What is the First Step of Viewing a Web Page?

The first step of viewing a web page is for your browser to load the webpage from a server. This can happen when you type a URL into the address bar, click a link or submit a form. The loading of a web page requires navigation between the server and your device which consumes internet data, depending on your data plan.

Once your browser has loaded the web page, it will then parse the HTML. This is where it will find any CSS files from link> elements and JavaScript files from script> elements. It will then build an in-memory DOM tree from the parsed HTML, and it will apply the styles from the parsed CSS and execute the JavaScript. This will create a visual representation of the web page on the screen, and you can then begin to interact with it.

Every web page must have a way for visitors to provide feedback on the content of the website. This can be done with links or buttons that allow visitors to express their opinions about a particular aspect of the website. Having this option available to visitors is usually a requirement for most websites and can be implemented using the h2> through h6> HTML tags.

To view the source code of a web page, you can right click anywhere on the page and then select the "View Page Source" or "Inspect" option. You can also use keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl+U (Windows/Linux) or Command+U (Mac). This will open the page in your browser with the HTML code displayed.
