One of the biggest innovations that TikTok offers users is the ability to stitch videos together. Stitches allow users to take a video that already exists on the app and edit it with their own content to create a new ending for the clip. Stitches can be a great way for creators to jump on viral trends, or simply a fun and unique way to express themselves.
It may not be immediately obvious, but TikTok has a special search function that allows you to easily view Stitches for specific accounts on the platform. To find all Stitches linked to a particular video, simply launch the Discover tab and search #stitch @[username].
The name of the account and username will be displayed in the results, allowing you to quickly browse all the Stitches created using that video. This is especially useful if a popular creator has asked their followers to respond to a specific video, or if you want to see what other people have been saying about the same topic.
To create a stitch, tap the Share button on the side of a video and select Stitch. You can then add your own video to the existing one by either filming with the front or back camera or choosing from pre-filmed clips. If you’re worried about others Stitching your video, you can limit who can do so by heading to your profile and tapping the three-line menu and then Settings and privacy. From there, you can choose to allow only friends or followers that follow you to duet with your videos.
