How to Tell If You're Shadowbanned on TikTok

You can get shadow banned on tiktok for posting content that violates their terms of service or community guidelines. This is a punishment that throttles your account and hides your videos from other users. It's usually applied to accounts that have posted illegal content, used hate speech, spamming, libel or copyrighted others' work. However, sometimes even legitimate accounts are mistakenly triggered by algorithms that look for signs of fake or spammy behavior. These include excessively following/unfollowing other users, using irrelevant hashtags, having multiple accounts on one device or any other behaviors that could be interpreted as spam by TikTok's algorithm.

It can take up to two weeks or a month for a shadow ban to lift. This is because of TikTok's spam filters that need to clear your account manually before it can lift the shadow ban. In the meantime, you can check if you're under a shadow ban on tiktok by looking at your "For You" page statistics. If your video views have suddenly taken a nosedive and you aren't getting any likes, this is probably the reason.

Another way to tell is by comparing the number of people who have viewed your videos on your "Personal Profile" page to the number of people who have viewed them on the "For You" page. If the numbers are significantly different, this is another sign that you're under a shadow ban. It's also a good idea to avoid posting new content or liking other accounts during this time. Otherwise, TikTok's algorithm might see this as spam behavior and prolong the shadow ban.
