How to Splice Videos on TikTok

If you’re looking to create a more polished video, TikTok has just made it easier to do so with an update that will enable users to string multiple clips together. The app has been giving content creators the ability to edit their videos for a while now, but with this new feature, you’ll be able to trim and rearrange the clips in order to adjust the video length. You’ll also be able to synchronize the audio with your videos and choose from popular music tracks to add some extra flavor.

To get started, launch the TikTok app and tap the plus icon at the bottom center of the screen. From there, you can either record a new video or use the camera to select an existing clip. Once you have the footage that you want, press the large red button to start recording and remove your thumb when done. TikTok will then display your current clip duration and how much time you have left to record.

When you’re ready to post, click Next to proceed to the editing page. Here, you can adjust your clip length, apply sound effects, stickers, text and more. You can even mute the original audio from your video.

If you’re using an iOS device, you can also use iMovie to combine multiple video clips for your TikTok content. Just import the video segments that you want to stitch together into iMovie, then drag and drop them on the timeline to arrange them in the desired order. You can then further edit the combined clip with a variety of tools and features, such as filters, transitions, captions and more.
