How to See Comments on Facebook Stories

Facebook’s Stories feature is a powerful tool for brands to get their messages in front of a wide audience and generate engagement. The format is located at the top of a user’s feed, which makes it highly visible. But it can be a tough nut to crack for many organic reach and engagement marketers. One moment your Stories are gaining traction, then the platform suddenly applies an algorithm update that sends your engagement plummeting.

Facebook has a range of tools to help you produce eye-catching and effective Stories, including the camera (to take photos or record video), music stickers, text features, doodling options and filters. You can even add Boomerang to your videos and create photo collages. Alternatively, you can add photos and videos from your gallery and edit them using the same tools. You can also add a timer, location tag, donation option, polls and questions to your Story.

Adding public comments to Facebook Stories could potentially disrupt the way we use this feature. It will take up an extra space in the frame, which might affect how we compose our visuals. It will also split the response options into a public ‘Comment’ field and a private ‘Message’ prompt.

If you want to monitor your Facebook Story views, head over to Page Insights and select Stories. Here you will be able to see the total number of people who have watched your story, along with more details like unique opens, engagements and so on.
