How to Search Google Images by Size

Google image search has long been a handy tool for finding inspiration, cure boredom or simply exploring the internet. But searching randomly only gets you so far, especially if you have a plan and need images of a certain size for a specific project. Thankfully, there is an easy solution to this problem.

A couple of years ago, Google removed an old feature that allowed you to search for images by their exact size. Previously, all you had to do is add the keyword imagesize:HeightxWidth to your search query. This way you could filter out the generic "Large" and "Icon" results to get just what you needed.

This feature was removed for unknown reasons, but fortunately, there are other ways to get this functionality back. For example, you can use an advanced image search option that gives you the same functionality as this old method (if you want to see more options, click on Tools in your search box and select 'Image Size').

Advanced Image Search also allows you to filter photo results by color, find photos with similar background or style, and locate websites that have used the same visuals. If you sell products online, this feature can be a very useful tool for tracking down the origins of competitor product images and analyzing the keywords they're using in their ALT text or product descriptions. It's worth a look. You can even perform a reverse image search, which shows the results of searches that include the same visuals in other web pages and provides additional information about them.
