One (also known as Unit, Unity or Number 1) is a natural number that represents a single entity and is the smallest positive integer. It is also considered to be the first of the prime numbers and the simplest of all positive integers. When it comes to 1:1s, being present means more than just physically being in the same room - it is about being fully engaged and minimising distractions. Ideally, face to face conversations are the richest but if non-verbal cues are not available, video chat works just as well. In fact, business leaders like Ben Horowitz and Kim Scott suggest that team members should drive their own 1:1s if possible.
