How to Edit the Cover of a TikTok After Posting

A tiktok video is all about posting short-hand videos for the world (or your fanbase) to see and like or laugh at. Sometimes, things don’t quite go as planned and you might want to edit a tiktok after posting – for example, maybe you misspelled your caption or you realised you forgot to add the hashtags!

However, it’s important to note that TikTok doesn’t give you much editing room once a post is made. So if you’re looking to change something, it can be frustrating – especially when you’ve already invested so much time and effort into making your clip!

One area where you can change a tiktok is the cover – this is what people will see when browsing your profile in the For You page, and it’s important to plan out the visuals that you want to use on all of your videos. Having cohesive, beautiful covers helps viewers get to know your content and draws them into your profile!

You can select the video frame that you’d like as your cover when uploading your video by going to the 'Post' page and tapping the three dots on the preview. This will allow you to scrub through the video and select a frame that you would like to use as your cover! You can also add a caption, tag, links and a photo on this page. Make sure you stay within the crop boundaries to avoid having any text outside of the thumbnail frame – and check out our post featuring our curated list of aesthetic fonts for inspiration!
