TikTok is a social media platform that allows users to create, edit and share videos in a short format. The 15-60 second videos can be created in the app or uploaded from a user’s phone gallery. The app features robust editing tools, stickers and filters. Users can also add music to their videos. The video platform is popular with Generation Z and is a growing tool for businesses looking to reach millennial audiences.
Tiktok, known as Douyin in China, has over 800 million active monthly users. It was acquired by tech company ByteDance in 2017.
How to add video to tiktok
To make a new video in Tiktok, tap the + button in the lower center of the screen or press the large record button on the bottom right side of the screen. From here, a camera screen will appear with filming options. Users can record with front or back cameras, choose filters and effects, and adjust their settings. Once finished, users can select a title and caption for their video. Depending on privacy settings, videos can be seen by anyone on Tiktok or just friends and followers.
Users can add text or stickers to their videos, as well as use face filters that can change facial features. If an added sticker or text isn’t wanted anymore, it can be removed by long pressing it until it turns red. Tiktok also offers an option called Stitch, which allows two users who aren’t in the same location to collaborate on a video. Typically, this involves one user creating and posting a video, followed by a follower responding to it, either in a duet or swapping their roles.
